Murphy's Manor ran weekly, and once a month I drew four comic strips. If I had a continuing story line active strips A and B were part of that continuum. All 4 strips went to weekly subscribing newspapers; bi-weekly or monthly subscribers got strips C and D (no story line) only. One strip in two weeks or once a month was just too long between cartoons for any hope of continuity.
Meanwhile, I drew single gag cartoons about other characters. It was never a bad day's work to think of a reason for Jeff to take off his shirt.
